The Asheville Wild Foods Market


Since 1996, The Asheville Wild Foods Market has harvested and sold thousands of pounds of mushrooms and other wild foods. We carry over 100 varieties of wild edibles each season, many not available anywhere else. Our clients include over 100 restaurants and hotels, including Lantern, The Grove Park Inn, and The Biltmore Estate. To order, see here.

Our tailgate outlet runs April through October, offering fresh wild produce and over thirty wild medicines as well as cordials, salts, and other prepared wild foods. We offer a free accidentification prevention service and proceeds fund the world's first wild foods public school program.

July 6th

June 29th

June 22nd

New: fresh black cherries, mimosa flowers, yucca flowers, day lily flower buds, milkweed flower buds, and possibly chanterelles. Also more mulberries, serviceberries, elderflower, lambs quarter, sassafrass leaf, and reishi. Dried: birch, sumac, spicebush, reishi, and chaga. Free samples: wood nettle pesto, sautéed sochane, and reishi iced chagalot.



June 15th
